Dual rear lens cap for canon
thingiverse
I was struggling to perfect Hooorse's design, since I wanted a singular piece. It also didn't thread seamlessly like my standard rear lens caps. I originally printed with Prusa i3 MK3; Hatchbox PLA, 20% infill at a slow speed of 210/55, 210/55. No brim or skirt was used. I was very eager to utilize the original design, but when I printed it and the cap wouldn't easily screw onto the lens. Maybe if I ground it down with a file or enlarged the print to 102% it would screw on, but I could rotate the cap approximately 1-2 mm before it binds. I also didn't understand why it couldn't be a single print. I'd rather have a small portion of supports to remove than to have to link the two caps together decreasing strength and adding weight. --------------------------- Updated: 8/3/2018 I attached a file that combines both into a singular printable piece. It works well with the exception of the existing attachment issues. When printing, use "support from bed only" and it prints without any problems.
