Decided to ditch the leveling sensor and upgrade the original X carriage fans with E3DV6 models instead of using the provided V5 clone. Can't fully endorse this approach unless you have access to CNC sheet metal, as I plasma-cut steel, bent it, and powder-coated it myself. You might be able to utilize the black aluminum piece from the original and trim it to shape or even 3D print a replacement part – that's left up to others. Purchased 30x30mm brushless fans from Amazon, soldered them together, and used the hotend fan supplied with the V6.
