Dual Jhead extruder & carriage, design for prusa air 2
thingiverse
This dual-extruder, compatible with standard Jhead mount, is designed to fit perfectly on a Prusa Air 2 from Mecano (available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14204). Follow the instructions below for the required components and assembly details. The extruder works with 2x Mk7-like drive gears (compatible with qu-bd drive gears), 2x nut M4 x 70, 4x Pneufit 4mm, a 50 cm PTFE tube (2x 25mm), 2x bearing 608ZZ, 2x Jhead MK5, 2x Nema 17 stepper motors, and 3x springs with an internal diameter of over 3 mm. You will also need screws, nuts, and washers in M3 and M4 sizes for assembly. When printing the extruder, you may require support material. The Jhead mount features adjustable 3-point leveling similar to Prusa's standard bed, with nuts being blocked for easier adjustments. This 3-point design is the best compromise for mounting defaults. Dual prints can be made using Repetier, which works really well. Online EEPROM write functionality makes calibration gaps during printing a breeze. A version of this extruder will also be available for Prusa V2 extruder mount on the structure. The carriage design, without wires, resembles a monster mask, making it even more impressive (especially with Pneufits).
