This carriage is designed for Mendel and similar printers with 50mm horizontal rod spacing and LM8UU bearings. It features M4 hex head bolt support and aluminum mounting plates from Hotends.com for J-heads. Compatible with standard carriage size, it serves as a drop-in replacement. The design is adaptable to various hardware, including belt clamps with m3/m4 holes and 10mm spacing that fit your belt. It's also convertible to a bowden carriage using favorite adapters, provided the M4 bolts have 50mm spacing with the J-head centered between them. Customization is available through an openscad design, requiring bolt_distance=50 and adjusting hexSize in the coupling module for nut size compatibility. It's compatible with compact direct drive extruders designed to fit over a J-head, given 50mm spacing between bolt holes with the J-head centered. The carriage provides provisions for single 40mm fan attachment at the back, between belt mounts, serving as a cooling aid for both cold-end and printed plastic. A 50mm fan with adapter can also be utilized. Users need to attach a bowden extruder and choose M4 bolt lengths according to their setup preferences. Bearings are attached using zip-ties, installed first before the bearings. Leveling the hot ends is facilitated by strips of paper or kapton tape between the carriage and mount plate.
