Dual Head Ultimaker2

The magnetic change concept originates from "foehnsturm," which I have reimagined for the Ultimaker2. My objective was to maintain a close resemblance to the UM2 design, allowing users to easily modify and integrate additional components such as a full metal head as a secondary option. This setup offers several advantages, including the ability to seamlessly switch between heads and reclaim a significant portion of the build area for single-head extrusion. The use of distinct nozzle temperatures in each head also presents an opportunity for enhanced versatility. However, one notable challenge is the occurrence of filament leakage from the secondary extruder. Implementing retraction mechanisms and prime towers can significantly mitigate this issue, ensuring that the printed part remains unaffected by the leakage. To assemble this setup, users will require left and right parts, which can be easily mirrored within their slicer software. Update 25/5/2015: A critical component, the "pick up" unit, was added to this revised upload, along with corrections to the step file. Furthermore, an improved version of the docking corners has been integrated, featuring a clamping mechanism that secures directly to the housing, eliminating the need for tape on all parts designated as "non-tape."
