Dual filament Bowden Y Adapter with PTFE Cut Template
thingiverse
I wanted to use a Y adapter and a single extruder to minimize weight on the X carriage. Unable to find a suitable setup, like many others here, I created one. The cut template included allows you to split the PTFE tube where it will pair up with the opposite side, resulting in a more precise cut and smoother feed. I've printed these parts and confirmed they function as expected off the printer; I'll upload pictures later. The Bowden mount is from here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1632847 - all I did was modify the endcap to allow this setup to be a direct swap or addition to the printer without modifying the carriage or extruder mount. The endcap/mount may work with other setups but I'm unsure of those possibilities. I've added an additional version of the adapter and endcaps: the new adapter allows long PTFE tubes to be inserted without needing a fitting, while the new endcap is longer, accommodating a nipple on Y adapters if desired. You'll want to adjust the orientation of parts on your printer to match its capabilities. This setup is still in progress; I plan to install it this weekend and update as needed. Future updates will include resizing holes and recessing bolt and nut ends for flush mounting, plus adding an automatic level mount version.
