Update 12/14: I have upgraded larger opening slips on ducts now. Details in Instructions. This is a dual fan system for use on a Solidoodle printer with Lawsy's carriage, utilizing two 30mm x 10mm fans. The files can be found here : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:104059. I printed these using support in slic3r at 0.1mm. Constructive feedback, comments, and inquiries are encouraged. Instructions below: The arms attach to the carriage's front bearing bracket via M3 bolts. The fans are secured using screws provided with your fan; alternatively, you can use M3 bolts. For each fan, two M3 bolts are used: one for mounting it on the arm and another in the opposite corner to keep the duct snug. The duct itself slips over the bolt's head and is then secured in the opposite corner with a screw. Update 12/14: Thicker slip-on ducts feature larger openings, allowing them to be printed without support. A noticeable improvement in PLA overhangs can be observed from the original to these new ducts. Fitment will vary based on your calibration; I oversized the ducts by 0.1mm for a snug fit around the fan. The ducts printed at 30.18mm after removing the first layer, which was squished during printing. To tighten the ducts further or provide additional friction, use electrical tape. Enjoy your prints!
