The airflow now streams horizontally, perfectly targeting the nozzle tips. No supports are necessary for printing. A secure clip on the extruder assembly securely attaches this duct using no fasteners. One fan delivers a pleasant curtain of air flowing across the print. Adding another fan or increasing to a larger fan size would not provide any significant benefit because there remains a substantial obstruction, the area of the slot is smaller than the fan's area. Muffin fans are engineered to move a volume of air, rather than build pressure. The more substantial blower type fan is more suitable for creating pressure. The vast array of fan duct designs found on Thingiverse offers many creative options. While muffin fan based ducts featuring small air outlets may work satisfactorily, they are extremely inefficient.
