Dual Extrusion Heart Gears2-3
thingiverse
Here's how I managed to take one of Emmett's Heart Gears (version 2-3) and give it a bit of a twist - literally! Using Blender, I cut off about 5mm from the top surface of each gear. It's printing out at roughly 50% size now, and I'm already seeing some problems with the corners on a few pieces. Lesson learned: plan ahead when it comes to supports! To avoid this sort of headache in the future, I'll work on revising my design to include built-in support structures. This will give me more control over how the model prints out. By the way, here are the printing details: * Makerware Desktop is being used to print * White/Pink ABS plastic is being used * Layer height: 0.2mm * Infill percentage: 30% * Purge wall is enabled
