This design provides a dual extruder compatible with Prusa i2 printer and Prusa i3 printer by means of a system of bowden extrusion, reducing weight on the x-carriage and avoiding vibrations during printing. Each printer has its own unique design for the x carriage. The rest of the components are identical for both printers. This enables easy switching between dual extruders for either printer model, ideal for those with both models at home or in their workspace. To assemble this system, you will also need: 1 x Base Grid 2 x 2-Pin Cable 2 x Pneumatic Coupler 3 x M3x30 Screws 8 x M3x20 Screws 6 x M3x15 Screws 2 x J Head All Metal 2 x 40x40 Fan For the hot-end assembly on the carriage, you will require: 2 x M4x50 Screws 1 x M3x30 Screw 2 x M3x20 Screws 3 x M3x10 Screws 3 x M3x8 Screws 4 x M3 Nuts 1 x M8 Nut 1 x M8 Washer 2 x M3 Washers 2 x Linear Bearing 688 1 x Linear Bearing 608 1 x Hobbied Bolt 1 x PTFE Tube 2 x LM8 Linear Bearings 1 x 4-Pin Cable 2 x 4x10 Mulls 1 x NEMA 17 Motor 1 x M8x20 Rod As the extruder may need to be duplicated, all components listed will be needed twice. I have also uploaded the Marlin firmware used to configure dual extrusion on my Prusa i2. Some parameters such as X and Y offsets or axis_steps_per_unit may require adjustments for optimal calibration with your motors. Most of the parts are printed in ABS due to its mechanical properties.
