Dual Expression Pedal Interface for Kosmo Format Modular Synth
thingiverse
This is a panel for a dual expression pedal interface designed specifically for an analog modular synth. Note: The knob labeled as "bias" would be more accurately described as the "range" setting, allowing you to customize your panel's appearance in any way you like. This panel adheres to the Kosmo format made popular by Look Mum No Computer. It enables users to control a DC control voltage using a foot-operated expression pedal, which can then modulate any CV input on their synth. Alternatively, an external control voltage (such as an envelope or LFO) can be plugged in, and the expression pedal will act as an attenuator for the incoming signal. In its absence, the "range" knob serves as a means to decrease the incoming Control Voltage or provide a variable DC output for driving other inputs high within your modular synth. This is an extremely valuable module developed within the Look Mum No Computer forums. For detailed information, including a stripboard layout and other specifications, refer to Analog Output's github page for the schematic: https://github.com/holmesrichards/exped. Consult the thread for additional details on stripboard layout and more. User Analog Output is responsible for creating the schematic, while I am accountable for this stripboard layout and 3D printed panel, as well as being an active participant in the discussion regarding the architecture and function of the module. This panel requires minimal filament and can be printed within a couple of hours if printed at a coarse setting. Printing with PETG (recommended) using a 0.8 mm nozzle is advised. To reduce the visibility of grooves on the first layer, print low and slow during the initial layer. Utilize a matte surface, and applying sharpie or other paints will result in more defined lines. Finally, apply a clear coat to prevent smudging.
