In creating a new printer, I aimed to enhance its aesthetics and make it resemble a consumer product. My existing Prusa printer is of high quality but has a utilitarian look. To improve air circulation in the printing process, vents on the side direct heated air from heatsinks towards the parts being printed. This design accommodates two Qu-BD extruders. The heatsinks ensure that air flows laterally only. Testing with a flame revealed sufficient air reaching the bottom. Currently, this printer is manufactured without bearings, featuring 8.2 mm holes in PLA which function well on the bars. Bronze bushings were attempted but faced seizing due to low tolerances. The semi-circular ends are a design consideration for the new printer. Updates will be provided upon completion of wiring and initial print runs. A version with Lm8uu bearings is also planned.
