I recreated this using these sensors in mind: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P72MYMJ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_XRL9EbF1E6E41 This sensor assembly is mounted directly into the original stepper holes, with the filament sensors securely attached to the plastic. To accommodate them, you'll need to carefully cut away the plastic where the filaments will be positioned. Refer to the provided picture for a clearer understanding. I highly recommend using ABS, but PLA proved to be an acceptable alternative. The test piece was designed specifically to verify that the holes align properly with the original stepper mounts.
