dual bowden extruder for Prusa I3 Geeetech Pro C (and may be other !)
thingiverse
After switching to a type E3DV6 extruder (surely a clone given the price!), I decided to create a customized model and try FreeCad at the same time! I drew inspiration from existing supports found here and there, but my main goal was to create a model that met the following requirements: capable of supporting a chain, capable of having ventilation ducts for future additions, as compact as possible (65mm being the maximum I allowed myself). The model is fully operational: I just tested it! A few more adjustments are needed, specifically at the trim level, and it should be perfect! Here are the ready-to-print models along with the FreeCad models if you're interested! The printing consists of three pieces: the support that fits perfectly on Geetech Pro C grids, the "cover" for fixing the two bowden tubes, a new X Stop that allows me to reach just the edge of the glass plate. The images are from a previous version, but there's little difference: I hollowed out some parts to speed up printing. Edit: 08/04/2017: After conducting print tests, I managed to adjust the offset between the two heads. On my equipment, it's exactly 30.5mm. The tests were conclusive! Print Settings Printer: Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 50% Notes: Printing in PLA at 50%. Time of printing for the three pieces: 1h40. The supports are, in my opinion, required. I didn't try it without them. Post-Printing Nothing special
