Dual Bomb Drop for RC Planes
thingiverse
This simple bomb drop system utilizes a Tower Pro SG90 servo to release one or two bombs. It features two 'ears' that securely attach elastic bands, allowing for the dropping of small objects. A glue-able flange is also included, enabling easy conversion of various small items for dropping. The figure-8 shaped parts are designed to fit snugly onto an elastic band, preventing binding upon release. Multiple stand-off lengths are provided to accommodate different clearance requirements below the plane. To assemble this system, you'll need a Tower Pro SG90 servo or its equivalent and two short pieces of wire (approximately 1mm in diameter). The wires should be inserted into the second and third holes of a servo horn, then trimmed to the desired length. Elastic bands are optional but can enhance performance. I utilize a FlySky FS-i6 transmitter, which is comparable to the Turnigy i6 model. I connect the bomb drop system to an auxiliary channel on my transmitter, linking it to Switch C - a three-position switch that defaults to neutral when in the center position and releases one of the bombs when switched to either top or bottom positions.
