(I have a smaller, lighter weight version v3. Please check my profile if you're interested)v2 - This design empowers users to confidently carry up to two standard BIC lighters, making it ideal for emergency, camping, or survival scenarios, all while mitigating concerns about potential damage. The higher the infill percentage applied during printing, the heightened resilience of the armor.Highlighted features of this design include:Integrated holes providing versatile wearing options, whether as a necklace or conveniently mounted to the outside of a backpack (suggested use of 550 paracord)A very snug recessed fit for the lighters to sit inside with minimal tolerance, preventing the lighters from taking damage due to vibration/falls.A recessed cavity allowing room for the small flame adjustment piece.Protection against the gas release button from being accidentally being pressed while sitting inside the armor case (letting all the gas out)Buoyant.A precisely crafted threaded cap, with the recommendation to incorporate an additional O-ring (~45mm wide, 2.5-3mm deep) for enhanced waterproof protection of the lighters.In-built provision for wrapping emergency wicking around the center allowing the user to use as little of the lighters gas as possible while fire starting. I recommend utilizing 100' hemp, coated in beeswax to ensure reliable ignition. (The beeswax coating repels moisture, keeping the hemp wick dry until the beeswax is melted off, exposing the wick)CHEFBEE 200 FT Organic Hemp Wick - $7.39https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0925G2VBY?starsLeft=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_ZMQHRE27A2DP47SS998Z&th=1Conveniently placed holes along the brim for easy mounting of the hemp wick.I'd recommend printing this in a bright, high visibility color if you plan on using it outdoors so that while you're outside and you don't loose track of it.Enjoy!UPDATE:I printed the model at 15%. Put 2 lighters inside and closed the lid. Took it outside to the asphalt and threw it into the air (Approx. 10'-30' high) 10 times in total. Both lighters took absolutely no damage and both were still able to be lit as normal. The only thing that took damage was the models top and bottom lip for the hemp wicking.Waterproofing: I added a 3D printed TPU rubber o-ring, screwed the lid on and submerged the model under water for 30 minutes. It was not waterproof (at 15% infill) I'm reprinting everything at 100% and trying again. I'm reprinting at 100% infill because I could hear there was water inside the model; both cap and base. I'm hoping that the model simply wasn't watertight to begin with given the 15% infill.
