This design enhances the prior model's framework by replacing it with a more robust sub-assembly, providing enhanced support for each heavy motor module. The frame utilizes SK450 quadrotor arms from HobbyKing's SK450 kit, increasing structural strength and reducing overall weight. Using pre-existing off-the-shelf components reduces design engineering time. Turnigy DST700KV brushless DC motors are utilized for thrust production. To fasten components together, M3 steel bolts were employed, as M2.5 bolts were found to be expensive and upgraded from commercial quadrotor kits' M2.5 threads. Subsequently, nylon M3 screws were implemented, with corresponding threads cut into 3D printed plastic brackets to further reduce weight.
