Dual Axis Motion System!

Dual Axis Motion System!

thingiverse

Our primary objective in designing this system was to develop a versatile motion control platform based on GRBL and gcode, utilizing 3D printed components and off-the-shelf parts. We aimed to avoid writing C# code for Arduino by leveraging the simpler concepts of Gcode, making this system more accessible to a broader audience. We also envisioned using geared steppers for their enhanced torque and holding power, particularly for heavier loads such as DSLR cameras or satellite antennas used in Amateur Radio applications. The mountings are designed to connect to a standard 20x40 v-slot on either the top or side of the rail, as specified in the part list below. The system features an azimuth mount that connects to the 20x40 V-Slot and an elevation bracket that mounts to the azimuth via an 8mm rod guide with one side tapped for an M3 thread to engage with the flat side of the D-shaft from the stepper. Additionally, the mounting holes of the rod guides are tapped to receive 1/4-20 hex head bolts for assembling all the pieces together. A thrust bearing is included between the azimuth and elevation connection, featuring a 1/4 inch multi-hole base for the elevation bracket. We have also provided all the Fusion 360 files for this project. **Parts List:** Geared Steppers: http://diy3dtech.com/geared-stepper-motors/ GRBL Control Board: http://diy3dtech.com/sain_smart_GRBL_board Power Supply: http://diy3dtech.com/12volt_10amp_pws V-Slot 20x40: http://diy3dtech.com/v_slot_20x40 Shaft Guides: http://diy3dtech.com/8mm_Linear_Rail_Shaft_Guide_Support_Bracket M5 T-Nuts: http://diy3dtech.com/M5_T_Slot_Nut M5 10mm Bolts: http://diy3dtech.com/M5_10mm_hex_head Don't forget to check out our YouTube channel at http://YouTube.DIY3DTech.com for daily updates on what we're working on.
