Dual Axis Encoder Mount
thingiverse
This is a PCB Gerber and mounting brackets for an ALPS EC11EBB24C03 dual axis rotary encoder readily available for around $10 each on the usual supply sites. (Mouser, AliExpress, ebay, etc.) This part is useful for flight sim cockpit hardware G1000, GNS 530, radio stacks, etc. The part number mentioned is a PCB mounted part, not a panel mount. The EC11DualMount.zip file are gerbers that can be sent to any of the PCB fab places (I used JLCPCB) and is set up as six to a small panel. For really easy ordering, the 3394659A_Y5.rar file is a JLCPCB production file that can be sent to them directly. A single, cheap order there would get you a total of 30 pieces (five copies of the six panel board.). On the part you want to mount the encoder on, create a 20x20mm square, 3mm deep. Center a 10.3mm diameter hole in the square, 1.6mm deep. The GNS530 STL shows an example. Solder the PCB to the encoder. Pins go on the opposite side! Print the adapter and slide it on the encoder. It's a snug fit, and only works in one orientation to clear the pins on the encoder. The Spacer goes between the PCB and the back of the target part and is fastened with m2 screws. The spacer can then be super glued to the target part. This way, you can unscrew the encoder and re-use in the future. Note that the encoder is not centered on the PCB...this is a "feature" in that it allows different orientation/spacing of the PCB relative to the part. But it does mean that the spacer and adapter only work in one orientation relative to the pins on the encoder.
