Dual 5015 Fan Duct w. BLTouch for Artillery Genius / Sidewinder X1
cults3d
Remixed 3DChanh's dual-5015 version to smooth out the aesthetics and reduce overhangs for printing. This makes the duct about 7g heavier than the more squared-off design, but saves about 43g in support material and as you no longer need supports for the entire underside of the horizontal section. Also saved about 7 hours print time. Added a logo and a warning too, cos it felt a bit naked. Results: Needless to say, the cooling is greatly improved. I was getting 'acceptable' overhangs at 50° before (with this mount) - now they're great all the way up to 70° and decent even at almost 80°. Downsides: More weight on the extruder carriage could affect quality at higher print speeds (I just slowed things down to 55mm/s to compensate for this) and 2x big 5015 fans are louder than 1x 4010, obviously. For me it's been a worthwhile upgrade for the improvements in quality. [Note: Before/After prints were using the same g-code files with no further calibration for the new fans except to change the BLTouch offset]
