Dual 1.2" LED Four (4) Digit Seven (7) Segment display with backpack panel (Adafruit)
thingiverse
A custom designed 3D printed case for a dual LED panel holder I've been using on my Time/Temperature project. I'm using an Adafruit 1.2" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display w/I2C Backpack, which I designed back in 2014 with the help of 123D Design. Now that it's been a while since then, I've decided to share this design on Thingiverse. The full project including software and wiring diagrams/schematics can be found at https://github.com/idcrook/timetemp. Here are my print settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Doesn't matter, it's up to you. Supports: No supports needed in this case. Resolution: 200 micron is the perfect resolution for this project. Infill: I used a 10% infill rate, but feel free to adjust. I made a few notes about my print settings: ABS plastic was used with standard settings (0.2mm layer height and 10% infill). Here's how I designed this case: Measurements were taken using digital calipers on the LED panels. I used 123D Design to create this project, and you can find the file included in the Thing. Test prints in ABS helped me adjust the original design source so that the LED panels snap into place.
