Representational Schematics of the Siphnos Treasure at Delphes. Modeling: J.-J. Malmary for his course on architectural representation. This work is based on Erik Hansen's and Georges Daux's monograph, "The Siphnos Treasure," FD II (1987). The sculptures from the frieze and ornamental motifs (eggs, heart rays...) carried by moldings were not modeled. The caryatids do not correspond to the original statues. This digital model serves as a pedagogical tool for techniques of architectural representation. Monograph studies of monuments like this treasure require a long analysis period - from ten to thirty years. Numerical acquisition instruments - dense correlation photogrammetry, 3D scanning, modeling software, etc... - greatly facilitate the work of archaeologists and architects but do not allow for doing away with a long observation and analysis period.
