DStretch The upper level catacombs corridor features an arched niche over one tomb with a slightly flexible frame in the zenith, topped by a red medallion featuring a cross. The back wall of the tomb showcases tendrils of vines and a medallion depicting the bust of deceased Eleusinius. Two opened books dominate the lower part of the reveal, while rhomb-shaped flowers fill the rest. Red bands adorned with gems and pearls frame the motives. Inscription: SCE MEM HELEVSINIVS - In memory of Heleusinius, a saintly person. The artwork dates back to the 5th-6th century AD. Processed from 499 photos and 2 laser scans, this project is a joint effort between GDH, the Zamani Project, Università degli Studi di Napoli "L'Orientale", and the Administration of the Catacombe di Napoli.
