DSLR Shoulder Rig (15mm Rail) Remix
pinshape
Summary This is the first of two remixes I did of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29677 for a film class I took last month, and you can also check out the other one here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1594004. The changes in this version are extremely minor; I simply made the handles stack together more neatly and designed it to fit a camera with a flip-out viewfinder, so it doesn't need the offset pieces. Additionally, I created two sleeves that allow you to use standard 22.2mm bicycle handlebar grips. Since I was able to find a foam shoulder pad on TaoBao for around $5, it didn't make sense to print that part; however, Amazon has similar pads available at a slightly higher price: http://amzn.com/B00ENYMQ8I and http://amzn.com/B00OFJMKWS. Just like the original design, you'll need 15mm and 20mm aluminum tubing for this project – the stuff I used is actually thicker than needed (15mmOD/10mmID and 20mmOD/12mmID), but the end plugs reflect that; although they're not essential, they do make it look cleaner. You can find the thumbwheels here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11848, and the link to the original model provides all the necessary hardware details.
