DSLR Rain Shield

This is a custom 3D printed case designed specifically for my Nikon D3200, although it would likely work well with most DSLR cameras. The case not only safeguards the camera from rain but also serves as an effective theft deterrent, allowing me to leave a camera setup unattended while capturing a time-lapse sequence. The case is impressively waterproof and incredibly sturdy. To secure the case to the camera and tripod, I utilize a specific cable that requires some experimentation to configure correctly. It took several attempts for me to determine the optimal configuration that ensures a secure connection. Once secured, I use a sturdy bicycle chain/lock to fasten my tripod to a fixed object. For those interested in learning more about the development process of this custom case, I've documented it on imgur at http://imgur.com/a/RxNgK. I'm pleased to report that this setup has allowed me to capture time-lapses in various weather conditions without any issues, including sunny days, rainy periods, and even snowy environments. Note: In regards to capturing time-lapses in snowy conditions, it's essential to be aware of the potential impact of cold temperatures on camera performance.
