DSLR Camera Pan Tilt Mount (Stepper Motor Driven)
thingiverse
I'm upgrading to a brand new pan tilt mount. You can check out the latest version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4547074 I created this pan tilt mount specifically for my Canon EOS 250D DSLR camera, allowing me to capture smooth motion controlled shots, timelapses and panoramas. At the heart of it is an Arduino Nano that controls all the other electronics, monitors sensor readings and battery levels, and triggers the camera to take pictures. You can control it with simple text-based commands over USB or Bluetooth. To achieve precise movements, I chose Nema 17 Stepper motors. These motors are controlled by A4988 stepper motor driver boards featuring microstepping mode, which provides 16 times more positional resolution for even greater precision. When combining the stepper motor's step angle, microstepping mode, and gear ratios of the pan and tilt axis, you get a precision of 0.0133° and 0.0369° respectively. You can find the circuit schematics, PCB design, and code on my GitHub repository: https://github.com/isaac879/Pan-Tilt-Mount Check out the project video here: https://youtu.be/uJO7mv4-0PY
