DSLR Baseplate and GripI designed this for my Nikon D500 but it should fit any DSLR. Just be aware of the battery door position and the distance between the camera's tripod screw and the handle. There's an imbedded 100 x 5.5 x 5.5mm steel bar in the baseplate.A 115mm M8 threaded rod runs up the middle of the handle and screws into an embedded M8 nut.The baseplate uses a standard ¼" UNC camera screw to attach to a tripod QR plate. The baseplate can be adjusted laterally to balance the setup. There's a version of the handle with a cold shoe atop to allow the fitting of a flashgun, etc. I use the plain version with a double hot shoe for the flash or video light/mic setup (as you can see in the photos).I used two lengths of bicycle inner tube superglued to the baseplate to prevent the camera slipping. The baseplate has a recess on the topside for a circlip to hold the ¼" UNC screw (I'll fit this when I come across one!) HARDWARE:1 x M8 x 115mm threaded rod2 x M8 nuts1 x steel bar 100 x 5.5 x 5.5mm1 x ¼" UNC camera/tripod screw (x 9.5mm)Small length of thin rubber (bicycle inner tube or similar)OPTIONAL: Circlip to hold the ¼" UNC screw in the baseplateThe STL and 3MF files are oriented properly with the correct supports and pauses for inserting the steel bar (first pause) and the ¼" UNC nut (second pause).I couldn't get hold of a 115mm M8 bolt with a slotted end so I used one of the M8 nuts superglued to the end of the M8 threaded rod then cut the slot for a driver with an angle cutter (Dremel would work as well). The heat generated from this destroys the superglue so re-apply it to the nut when it's cooled. An M8 locknut might also serve but cutting the slot would most likely melt the nylon. POST PRINTING:Just dig out the support material from the lug hole in the handle and the ¼" UNC screw hole under the baseplate.Regards, Paul.
