DSLR as a Webcam: monitor mount
thingiverse
I use my Sony A6000 mirrorless camera as my webcam but got tired of having a tripod behind my monitor. This mount sits on top of my monitor and holds the camera in place saving precious desk space. I've included the Fusion 360 files so you can modify them to suit your monitor (the thickness of the monitor will vary). I also included an adapter. If you want, you can modify the design so it doesn't need this part. When I was prototyping, I designed it this way so that I can alter the design for the ball head mount a bit without reprinting the entire thing. As for how I use my camera as a webcam... I bought a ~$20 "USB Video Capture Card" from Amazon (the one I picked is no longer listed, but there are lots of others). I also have a small ball head mount that attaches to the bottom of the mount (see pic).
