I personally use a 1/2 inch O-ring. This entire process is significantly cheaper than taking your car to a service center - you'll only need a 1.5 meter hose with a 10mm interior, which I purchased from a local hobby shop for under $1. When installing the fill plug, don't overtighten it; just hand-tight is fine, as there's no pressure inside the transmission.
