DRZ400 3x3 Mod Mesh Lip

This is a simple lip with a mesh screen to help clean up the Suzuki DRZ400 after the 3x3 airbox mod. Keep In mind the hole will need to be cut SLIGHTLY larger then the traditional 3" by 3" in order to compensate for the air restriction caused by the plastic mesh. I have included a template file that might help you size up the hole. When cutting the hole please use the right tools, take your time and plan ahead! . In order to keep the size of this "Lip" down I have designed it to be glued into place. Its a much better option then putting extra hoes in the airbox. I personally used silicone adhesive sealant, the same stuff everyone uses to glue on case savers. Take notice one side is 3mm shorter then the others. That side faces the plastic posts for the CDI Box. I designed it that way because the plastic posts have raised edges that cause the lip to not sit flush. BOFORE YOU ASK: Yes, I did consider making a version with a pre-filter instead of mesh but I ran into a few problems. First: The hole would need to be much larger to compensate for the air restriction., Second: The CDI would need to be relocated because of the additional size of the Lip/Filter/Hole., Third: Making such a drastic change to the geometry of the airbox will cause the engine to run horrible with tuning issues., AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST - FORTH: It would be a pain in the A$$ having to remove the seat every time just to clean the filter. I work very hard on all my designs and remixes. I hate releasing unfinished designs so I do allot of prototyping. Printing the same thing over and over until its perfect takes allot of time and filament. Though its not required tips are always welcome. Tips make a fantastic incentive to keep me working hard to provide great products. It also helps cover the cost on my end so I can keep designing hard to find custom items and accessories.
