Replacement male door latch for a maytag dryer. No supports needed. I printed this one in clear PETG, but PLA should hold just as fine.Original metal part was always bending out of shape and falling from it's socket. I bought a replacement plastic one similar to this model, but the fit wasn't good (even if it was specially made for this dryer, it didn't extend far enough for the latch to latch properly) so I redesigned it. Flipped the springy sides 90 degrees to make them printable and adjusted the pin length and width to get a good latch. The fourth model or so fitted well enough, but was a bit wiggly and too thin at the bottom and finally broke after 3 months. This is the 5th iteration and holds up very good after almost 2 years of service. The tappered sides make it snug and it feels stronger. My print was very stringy as I was starting with PETG, but it still fitted fine ! You may need to file off a little bit of material depending on your particular dryer model. Let me know if it works for you !EDIT: After 2.5 years of operation, my GF got a towel caught on it and pulled sideways. The poor thing snapped out. Good thing though, I had a new one printed within 15 minutes and the dryer was back up and running !
