A simple two part print to allow the filament spool to rotate freely inside an air tight plastic box which includes desiccant (silica gel) to absorb moisture for PETG filament etc... The stand normally uses the most material and take the longest to print but as we are using a plastic box this will not be necessary so all we need is a simple mechanism to allow the filament to feed freely without binding and little or no friction. A 10mm axle (could be a piece of doweling or spare piece of carbon rod etc.), two low cost bearings ($2 each) and a roller or hollow tube with 19mm ID... just add two mounting parts (one includes a cut out to mount a low cost humidity sensor) and that's it... Materials: * For the Axle, printed or use a piece of wooden doweling etc... * Two bearings with ID of 10mm and OD of 19mm in my case (~$2 each) but any bearings can be used just modify the design as required... * Left & Right supports, Roller & Axle printed parts (Right support includes cutout for low cost ebay humidity meter $2-3)... * Container: Sisterma make an air tight food container which fits a single spool perfectly ~23x27x12cm 5Litre ~ €9.50... **Update:** Added a standalone version which doesn't require drilling of the container. The files are named; SideWithLcd (uses a different LCD module), SideWithoutLcd, OuterRoller. (see 2nd image)... I have also added options for roller placement, select to suit...
