After the success of the water dish, I wondered how a food dish could work with a Gatorade bottle. Well, here is the result. I originally printed this on December 14, 2017, and soon discovered that the size of the kibble caused a log jam at the neck of the bottle. I then designed the pivot piece to hopefully rectify the situation. After a few days, the cats were able to figure it out, and they are now able to empty the bottle in about 3-4 days, which is approximately how much food can fit in a 32oz bottle based on daily portions. After witnessing one of my cats head butt the bottle to make it tilt and dispense food, I decided it was time to share this project with others. I suspect that smaller kibble may not need the pivot piece. On January 9, 2018, I added a funnel for quick filling of the bottle. It works well when pouring onto it, but my next refill will test how it does scooping directly out of the bag. At 25% infill, this one seems sturdy enough to handle direct scooping. On April 22, 2018, I discovered that the 59.5oz Tropicana Orange Juice bottle fits perfectly into the threads on this design. It has more volume and seems to feed better without any outside influence. If you like, give it a try.
