Steps to Build the Drum Stick Prosthetic for Bicep and Forearm Print out all of the parts: 2 x Spacers 2 x Rings 1 x Rotator_Base 1 x Rod 1 x Forearm_Cuff (Make sure to print this using a thermoformable filament) 1 x Bicep_Cuff (Make sure to print this using a thermoformable filament) 2 x Base Connectors Sand off the Forearm_Cuff and Bicep_Cuff to make sure they have a smooth finish. Attach the Rotator_Base to the 2 Base_Connectors by placing the 2 Base_Connectors on each side of the Rotator_Base, setting a specified angle between the two respective parts, and finally attaching them together by using 4 of the #6 3/4 inch long screws (2 screws per Base_Connector). (See main picture for placement). Thermoform the Forearm_Cuff to the person's forearm, but make sure that the holes on the top can line up with their respective holes on the 2 Base_Connectors. Attach the Forearm_Cuff to the Rotator_Base using 4 of the #6 1/2 inch long screws. Thermoform the Bicep_Cuff to the person's bicep, but make sure that the holes on the side of the Bicep_Cuff line up with their respective holes on the Forearm_Cuff. (See exploded view picture for placement) Using 2 of the Rings, line each one up on each side of the holes of the Forearm_Cuff and Bicep_Cuff. Using 2 of the #6 1/2 inch long screws, attach the screws through the holes of the Forearm_Cuff and Bicep_Cuff and into the 2 Spacers that should be placed on the inner lining of the Bicep_Cuff. This step will attach the Bicep_Cuff and Forearm_Cuff together. Drill a hole in a drum stick that aligns with the holes on the sides of the Rotator_Base farthest from the Forearm_Cuff. Make sure this hole is big enough so that the Rod can fit through it. Next, saw off the back end of the drum stick and then drill a hole in the newly made flat end so that 1 of the #8 screwable hooks can screw into it. Screw in the other #8 screwable hook into its respective hole in the Rotator_Base. (See main picture for placement) Attach the drum stick to the Rotator Base by inserting the Rod through the hole in the drum stick and then, using 2 of the #6 1/2 inch long screws, attach the drumstick by inserting these screws from the outside of the Rotator_Base and into the holes of the Rod. Next, attach a rubber band between the two #8 screwable hooks. Place padding onto the inner linings of the Forearm_Cuff and Bicep_Cuff. Cut holes in the lining so that velcro can go through the holes made in these cuffs. Place velcro through the Forearm_Cuff and Bicep_Cuff to attach onto the person. Enjoy playing the drums!
