Drum filament 1,75mm sample - Revolver
thingiverse
Due to the substantial space occupied by rolls of filament and the hassle of opening multiple boxes every time I wanted to view a color sample, I decided to create a small sampling system for filaments, allowing me to see each color at a glance. The result is this, albeit somewhat complicated to print due to the requirement for precise printer calibration; if not properly calibrated, the filament may not fit snugly into its slots or may come out prematurely. To ensure accurate filament passage, I recommend printing a small section of the revolver beforehand. Assembly is straightforward: simply attach the cover with a small hole for introducing the filament and the piece that holds it in place, allowing it to rotate for selecting another box. Be cautious not to apply too much glue, as this can cause it to seep onto the walls of the revolver; cyanoacrylate works well for this purpose. Usage is equally simple: insert a filament into one of the boxes and cut it about 8 mm from the end when nearing completion. Then, use a fine tool to push the remaining filament through.
