Drum Excavator

This is a prototype for a subscale (scaled to fit within my 3D printer) rotary regolith collector. It combines the functionality of a bucket wheel excavator with that of a screw conveyor. As it rotates in the scoop direction, excavation occurs simultaneously with filling, while reversing rotation triggers unloading. The ideal fill ratio is set at or above 80%. Prototype testing is scheduled to begin in April 2020; this entry will be updated prior to the deadline for completion.
