This is a collaborative effort between members of Enlight Malaysia, working closely with Wikimedia Malaysia and AMR. The proposed design utilizes aluminum, boasting a mass of less than 4.5 kg and accommodating nearly 31 liters of Regolith. This innovative concept incorporates several key features: it employs teeth to dislodge or repel icy material/rocks on the moon's surface; valves are strategically placed on the inner surface to prevent reverse flow of Regolith; small ventilation holes near these valves facilitate air circulation; studs are utilized to enhance maneuverability on the lunar surface, providing flexibility and acting as a supporting pivot point while also reinforcing the drum's wall. Furthermore, an endoskeleton comprising support plates reinforces the drum's wall, preventing collapse and extending its lifespan. The design aims to achieve at least a 50% fill ratio, with internal valves facilitating Regolith collection and minimizing reverse flow. This concept is grounded in reality, as it eschews extraordinary shapes in favor of conventional designs. By incorporating numerous features that enhance functionality, durability, and flexibility, this drum can effectively operate. Its feasibility for manufacturing is demonstrated by the ability to produce its components using various machines: 1) drum wall and internal shaft (cutting machine, molding, and bending machine); 2) studs, valves, scoops (molding); 3) endoskeleton/supporting plates (laser cutting machine); and 4) cover plate (cutting machine and punching machine). These parts can be assembled via welding and screws, conclusively proving the viability of this design.
