Description: An Italian albarello or drug-jar of waisted cylindrical shape. On the centre-front is a portrait of a woman wearing a necklace in an oval frame which is surrounded by foliated, scroll work and sgraffito in blue, yellow and white. Similar to CG 36 B. These popular portrait pieces emphasize character rather than beauty. Sicilian, possibly Caltagirone. Date Made: 18th century AD
