<p>Wanted to experiment with the necessary strength for this kind of mechanism. First iteration proved reasonably strong printed in PLA with 4 perimeters and 20% infill (gyroid). Should all print fairly easily without supports if you put the big flat sides down.</p><p>Currently uses more lengths/sizes of hardware than I'd like - Ideally, the whole thing would use only M4 screws (minus the necessary M5 nut for the barrel adjuster) and press-fit hex nuts. Redesigning the clamp would get me most of the way there.</p><p>While I haven't had any functional issues with it yet, I might experiment with different body designs to add stiffness - It does flex a bit under heavy cable pull. Supporting the bearing from both sides would be much stronger but pose a technical challenge for ease of assembly.</p><p>Hardware required:</p><p>1x 608 (skateboard) bearing</p><p>M4 screws: 2x 20mm, 1x 15mm, 1x 8mm (sizes don't need to be exact, an extra few mm here and there doesn't really matter)</p><p>4x M4 hex nuts</p><p>1x M5 hex nut (nylock, ideally)</p><p>1x M3x8mm screw</p><p>1x M3 heat-set threaded insert (working on redesigning this connection to use M4 with a hex nut)</p><p>1x M4x12mm washer</p><p>2x M4x9mm washers</p><p>1x M5 barrel adjuster (took mine off an old broken derailleur)</p>
