Dropcam Pro Doorbell Case Angle Mount

This is a custom case designed to transform my original Dropcam Pro into a functional Doorbell Camera. The case consists of two parts: the main body that securely holds the Dropcam device and has space for a USB cable, and an insert that keeps the camera firmly in place when mounted. To accommodate the wire running down the door frame and into the house for power, the cable is expertly routed to the side. A 25% angle to the case allows it to capture street and sidewalk traffic with ease. To install the system, I utilized standard 3M double-sided tape, which provides a remarkably permanent hold. However, if future maintenance or repairs are anticipated, a mounting hole for screws would be an ideal feature to include in the design. Unfortunately, drilling into my door frame was not feasible, so this was the chosen solution. The USB cable is discreetly directed into the house through the door jamb and connects to a USB AC adapter. Using the Nest App on iOS, I can easily record and receive notifications whenever individuals or vehicles/dogs/deer/mail delivery personnel pass by.
