Drop Hammer
thingiverse
This is a motor driven drop hammer. It's my first attempt to print gears and to see how well they mesh. The arm is designed to hold an old D cell battery so that it may be raised by a cam and dropped onto an object like a walnut. It probably won't work but it helps pass the time. A battery holder will be added later. Gear reduction is around 64:1 so plan power supply accordingly. A worm gear would be better but I haven't found one I like yet. :-) 2021_03_06: Want to add legs to add a bit of stability and to get the hammer a little higher in the air? I added: -DH_Base_09 and -DH_Leg_02 Legs attach to base with M4 x 8mm flat head screws.
