Dromedar - singular algebraic surface
thingiverse
Dromedar, a singular algebraic surface of degree four, boasts an intricate set of real points defined by the equation x^4 - 3*x^2 + y^2+z^3 = 0. This unique surface has a single singularity at its origin. The following files have been provided for printing: * `Dromedar_thickened_Smooth.stl` -- a thickened version with normal vectors fixed, ideal for printing. * `Dromedar_thickened_Blocky.stl` -- the blocky version, suitable for printing due to its thickness. * `dromedar_raw_blocky.stl` -- a raw triangulation from Bertini_real, not directly printable without modification. It was thickened in Blender and then passed through Microsoft's 3D Builder to fix internal geometry. * `dromedar_raw_smooth.stl` -- an infinitely thin surface that was sampled with fairly tight tolerances using the `sampler`. * `input` -- the Bertini_real input file used to compute Dromedar. This surface was undersampled near critical points and singularities due to the lack of cyclenumber > 1 sampling before its computation.
