DROK LM2596 power supply box
thingiverse
A snap-together, no screw or glue, print-and-use box with integrated buttons for the DROK LM2596 DC-DC power supply. This is for the version with display and 4 buttons, with or without heat sink. This box is higher than necessary just to house the board because I wanted a 5mm barrel connector above the board and both input and output at one end. You may want another arrangement. If so, reduce the height of the box and all 8 ‘pillars’ on the lid equally. The board is sandwiched between 4 of these pillars and spigoted location pads on the box. The lid snaps (4) into side vents on the box. The display sits in a ‘well’ by design to mask glare in a late-night audio setup. A vent on the box bottom is blocked if sitting on a flat surface. Printed in PLA for a <3V voltage drop (which doesn’t get warm). If I wanted the board to do more work, I would print in PETG or even nylon, adding feet and vents. As ever – caution when mixing electrics, heat and plastic!
