Droid Depot Restraining Bolt

Droid Depot Restraining Bolt

After printing a droid at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland, I decided to create some accessories for him. To make a restraining bolt that fits perfectly with a droid depot unit, I designed one that matches its scale exactly. This means you won't need to resize it at all. A 6x3.25mm hole is located at the bottom of the unit, where you'll insert a 6x3mm magnet. Alongside this, place another magnet inside the personality chip door flap and your droid will be free from your grasp whenever you want. I printed this design with no supports on my stock Ender 3, but I had to slow down the first layer significantly to keep everything in place. After doing another test print with added supports only where they touched the bed, I found that the magnet hole became much more accurate and easily removable. If you're having trouble getting the magnet to press fit into it, try adding supports or use a lighter to soften the underside of the print before inserting the magnet.
