thingiverse
To create a simple mount for a digital readout (DRO) on your EMCO Unimat 3 or 4 mini lathe, or similar models like the MJ-189, follow these steps. You will need printed parts, specifically mounts DRO_1 and DRO_2, caps DRO_1b and DRO_2b, and a carriage driver arm known as DRO_3. Additionally, you require four M3x10mm screws and one left-handed 300mm caliper, available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CDROLCG. Mounting the caliper on the right side of the carriage is essential because it allows for positive readings when moving the carriage towards the headstock. To prepare the DRO mount, print all necessary parts and reduce the length of the caliper arms accordingly. If required, use a file to refine both printed parts and the caliper itself to ensure a snug fit between the caliper and its mounting caps. Secure the caliper in place using the clamping screw on the carriage driver arm DRO_3.
