DriveMyPhone - Smartphone Controlled Hybrid Vehicle
thingiverse
I've been sitting on a project called DriveMyPhone for six years now. The idea came to me while I was working on my MobileEarthRover One and MobileEarthRover Two projects. With the concept finally complete, I'm excited to share it with you. To build one of these vehicles, head over to Instructables and follow this link: http://www.instructables.com/id/DriveMyPhone-Smartphone-Controlled-Hybrid-Vehicle/. I've been busy lately building and selling 3D printers at Reprapalgarve, but I'm glad I could finally make time for DriveMyPhone. The project has come a long way since its inception in 2010. It's worth noting that the DriveMyPhone concept won two competition ideas: 'Ideias em Caixa 2010' and 'Idea2Product 2011 Portugal'. Although it may not seem groundbreaking now, back then it had real potential. In addition to winning venture capital funding, a patent for the model was submitted. Keep in mind that idea competitions consider more than just product design – they also evaluate marketing and sales strategies. I won't go into detail on this aspect as it's outside the scope of this project. If you're interested in learning more about DriveMyPhone, be sure to check out the patent attached below.
