I snagged a lawn mower for practically free, but the catch was that the frontwheel had no drive. When I tore it apart, I discovered that the plastic internal gear was badly worn out. I figured I could just 3D print a small replacement part, but it ended up taking me longer than expected. I printed the gear-half with solid infill and the other part with reduced density PLA to save time. It took around four to five hours to print the internal gear half, and nearly eleven hours for the other half. That was just for one wheel, mind you! I've been using it nonstop for about five or six hours now, and I'm eager to see how it holds up in the fall. Maybe ABS or Nylon would have been a better choice. Unfortunately, I ran out of black PLA, which is why one wheel looks like it's wearing a pair of white socks.
