A drive shaft, also referred to as a driveshaft, driving shaft, propeller shaft (prop shaft), or Cardan shaft, functions to convey torque and rotation. It is commonly applied in connecting various components within a drivetrain that cannot be directly linked due to distance constraints or the need for relative movement between them.
