Designed originally to be cut out of thin wood ply or acrylic using a high-powered laser cutter, with at least 10 watts of power - and, of course, engraving could also be done with less than one watt, albeit requiring much more time. The model could also be cut out with a CNC machine; however, since there is no Z-axis information available, the engraving portion would need to be specifically defined for cutting height in the G-code, or perhaps the color coordination could instruct the software to handle this detail automatically. Converting the design to STL format wouldn't require much effort, and if it were converted to G-code, the STL file would follow closely behind.
