No brim needed, as support is built into the STL file so no additional supports are required. Once printing is complete, cut the 2 supports and file them down to a smooth finish. If the fit is too tight or loose for your glass, simply boil some water in a tea cup, then dip the top into the water for exactly 20 seconds. Next, bend it to the desired tension while blowing gently on it to cool quickly. To add text, create an STL file of .1mm tall text. Print this single layer with the bottom layer height set to .1mm using your slicer. Then, swap filament and print the clip on top in a contrasting color. Ensure that the bottom layer of the clip is precisely .3mm thick, leaving between .2mm and .3mm of vertical space for the filament to flow freely. Creating 3D text in any font is surprisingly easy using Sketchup. Start by drawing a flat square measuring 20mm x 20mm. Next, use the "tools" feature to generate 3D text with a depth of exactly .1mm. Utilize the STL exporter add-on to convert your design into an STL file from Sketchup. When exporting, be sure to select only the letter(s) and not the surrounding square. In Cura, set the bottom layer of the text to precisely .1mm thick. Typically, I find that Cura works best when the nozzle is set to .4mm and the shell is set to .3mm. However, I increase the flow on my printer to 133% to compensate for the .3mm wide lines. I often use the "Georgia" font for larger letters and Arial for smaller text. Note that Arial is particularly well-suited for small text due to its consistent line width, whereas fonts like Georgia can exhibit varying thicknesses, such as the top being thinner than the left side.
